Dirty Pretty Things and The Enemy play prison gig

Dirty Pretty Things and The Enemy performed this afternoon in Pentonville Prison, London in support of suicide prevention charity for young men. The two bands played in the chapel of the prison for inmates in the 180-capacity venue.

The two bands join a small group of artists including Johnny Cash, Billy Bragg and Metallica who have played within prison walls. Prior to the full gig, Dirty Pretty Things played a three song set in the atrium of the prison. The set was Bloody Thirsty Bastards, new song Come Closer and single Deadwood .

Singer Carl Barat was forthright in his support of the charity Wasted Youth : "There were 67 suicides last year in prison in Britain and already there has been 59 this year, we need to do our bit to fight the depressions and demons that young men face. Suicide is still the biggest killer of men under 35."

Taking to the chapel stage with a yell of "Awright", Dirty Pretty Things tore through a full 45 minute set comprised of:

Chinese Dogs
Gentry Cove
Wondering
Doctors And Dealers
Deadwood
Come Closer
Blood Thirsty Bastards
You Fucking Love It
Plastic Hearts
The Enemy
Gin And Milk
Bang Bang You're Dead

Before 'Come Closer' , guitarist Anthony Rossomando announced - to rousing cheers from the inmates: "It's not about building prisons, it's about rehabilitation."

The band received a standing ovation from the band at the close of the set Supporting band The Enemy played a 30 minute set - and also received a standing ovation. Their set was:

40 Days Away
From Here
Pressure
Don't Shed A Tear
Aggro
Had Enough
It's Not OK
You're Not Alone

Pentonville Prison was where Barat 's former Libertines' bandmate Pete Doherty was held in remand in 2006 while charged with driving under the influence in December 2005.

Originally Babyshambles were invited to play but Deputy Governer Paul Baker said today that that the idea had been dropped by the prison service.

On September the 8 there will be a follow up gig at London Camden's Koko club to raise money for a suicide prevention phoneline. The line-up features The Rakes and Boy Kill Boy.
Muse close second night at Wembley

Muse closed their second night at Wembley Stadium with another stunning performance tonight (June 17).

After thrilling the crowd with the biggest gig of their lives last night (June 16), the band unleashed an equally legendary two hour set at the newly opened giant venue.

Unlike the first night, the trio mixed up their set throwing in four different songs including crowd favourites 'Bliss' and 'Sing For Absolution'.

Kicking off with 'Knights Of Cydonia' singer Matt Bellamy who was dressed in an all red outfit, joked: "Well London hello. Back so soon?"

During the show, which again saw spectacular pyrotechnics, fire, smoke and gymnasts suspended from giant balloons, the band blasted through a bombastic performance with hits and classics from their backcatalogue, including 'Super Massive Blackhole', which saw giant marching robots projected onto the stage's giant video screen, 'Starlight', 'Time Is Running Out', 'Hysteria', 'Stockholm Syndrome' and 'Plug In Baby'.

Midway through the set, Bellamy played three tracks on his glass top piano including 'Apocalypse Please', their Nina Simone cover 'Feeling Good' and debut album opener 'Sunburn' .

Towards the end of the show the singer changed into a black jacket and white jeans as he strapped on an acoustic guitar for 'Soldier's Poem' before he introduced 'Unintended' by telling the audience: "This is an old song and we are playing it in a new stadium"

The band rounded off their historic two day extravaganza once again with 'Take A Bow' before leaving the stage to huge applause. Drummer Dominic Howard added: "You guys fucking rule. You are unbelievable. We'll see you again soon."

Muse played:

'Knights Of Cydonia'
'Hysteria'
'Supermassive Blackhole'
'Map Of The Problematique'
'Forced In'
'Sing For Absolution'
'Butterflies & Hurricanes'
'Hoodoo'
'Apocalypse Please'
'Feeling Good'
'Sunburn'
'Invincible'
'Starlight'
'Blues Jam'
'Time Is Running Out'
'Newborn'
'Soldiers Poem'
'Unintended'
'Blackout'
'Bliss'
'Plug In Baby'
'Stockholm Syndrome'
'Take A Bow'

In between a series of Mexican waves, My Chemical Romance got the crowd in the mood as they tore through an hour set which was heavy on tracks from the 'Black Parade' including 'I Don't Love You', Dead! and their Number One Hit 'Welcome To The Black Parade' .

During their show they thanked Muse for adding them to their support bill as singer Gerard Way told the audience: "We want to thank those guys for fulfilling a lifetime dream for us, playing at Wembley." Later the singer also dedicated 'Cancer' to a "couple of friends" in the crowd.

Biffy Clyro brought their new Number Two album 'Puzzle' to the stadium with a short set which saw the band perform the likes of 'Who's Got A Match', 'A Whole Child Ago', 'Get Fucked Stud' and hit single 'Saturday Superhouse'.

Frontman Simon Neil took time out to wish his dad, who was watching in the crowd, a Happy Father's Day. He later also urged the crowd to "scream for Muse so they can hear."

New York electro two piece Shy Child welcomed Muse fans who arrived early with a synth driven afternoon set.

Not only that, but the magazine comes free with a special CD hand-picked by the band themselves and featuring brand new Muse track - 'Man Of Mystery'.
